When a service code has to be updated on archived visits, the OPS are required to pull back the visits, break the links, change the service code on the visit, change the service code on each punch and relink. The alternative is to manually create each punch and add the tasks vs updated updated the original punches.

Often these visits are for date of service that are archived and created when the payer make changes to service codes. In a current example, the dos are 4/1 - 7/27 of 2023 and include 250 visits that will have to be pulled back in order to make the changes. When making these changes, we lose the original compliant EVV punches and signatures. This creates and audit risk if a site is paperless and unable to produce PS Task and Signature report with the required elements in an audit.
