We should be able to search for Clients and DCS by either the proper name or the preferred name. The search engine should be able to identify the person by either name since both are listed on the profile. This would benefit anyone who only knows clients or DCS by the proper name that populates on all reports, employment records, and payer authorizations.
Idea Background
If a client or DCS has a preferred name on their profile, we are unable to search in the Manage Visits menu by their proper name. When reviewing reports such as SVP, utilization, etc. only the proper name is listed and it's not possible to find the client or DCS without going to the Home or DCS menu and searching to identify the preferred name. Even then, it's confusing because the proper name can only be seen if you click the preferred name hyperlink. For example, if I'm looking in Reconciliation for Jane Smith, whose preferred name is Betty, I cannot find her if I don't know her preferred name. If I search by Smith, many Smiths may appear but no Jane Smith. I don't know why she doesn't appear but hopefully it will occur to me that maybe she has a preferred name. If I go to the Home menu (or DCS if she's an employee) and search by Smith, Jane I will see Smith, Betty in the list. I have to click the hyperlink to see that the proper name is indeed Jane Smith. Then I have to go back to Reconciliation and search by Betty Smith. The Home and DCS menus allow searching by either name. All other menus should allow searching by either name, also. |

Idea Benefit
The benefit is for anyone who only knows clients or DCS by the proper name that populates on all reports, employment records, and payer authorizations. We will be able to search with ease without going from menu to menu to decipher the reason the name doesn't appear in the search. |
