Caregivers sometimes mark visits as “Absent” incorrectly, thinking it applies when they are off for the day or not scheduled with a client. This leads to inaccurate visit records and payroll errors, as absent visits should only be recorded by supervisors.
|
Idea Background
Remove the “Absent Visit” feature from the caregiver-facing POC app. Make absent visit reporting the sole responsibility of supervisors through their management interface. |
|
|
Idea Benefit
Prevents incorrect processing and overpayment for visits caregivers did not work. Reduces confusion for caregivers about what constitutes an absent visit. Improves data accuracy and compliance. |
Thank you for your message.
I wasn't able to list my suggestion on home care exchange well because of other people addressing the absent function.
My idea is - can we change the nomenclature in the POC EVV app for "absent"? Caregivers feel the absent function can apply to their ability to do a shift. We don't want them to interpret absent this way. We don't want electronic drive by call offs. Caregivers need to call if there is ever a problem in making their shift.
We don't want to eliminate the absent function. We just need the caregivers to use it in appropriate situations.
The valid use of absent is on the client side. If the client ends up somehow being sick or not home - we then have the caregiver use the absent function so that they will get show up pay.
I would like to see if the absent function can be renamed to "client absent" in the POC EVV app?
Thank you for your consideration,

We have the ability to disable the absent visit option at a site level. If this is needed, please submit a request to the ARSystem Help Desk
Please make it 'client is absent' that a caregiver can see if they want to use the function. In this way, caregivers cannot use the absent function to call off for a shift -- if they are the ones that need to be absent.
